NEMA Enclosures List
There are around 20 different grades of NEMA enclosures to choose from, so it is important to work with an experienced NEMA enclosure manufacturer in order to receive the right enclosure based on your application and requirements.
As stated before there are a number of different advantages that these designs and standards offer and each different grade of NEMA enclosure provides different properties such as drip-tight designs, water tight construction, heat resistance, and protection from dust, light, and environmental hazards as well as many, many other properties.
Many of these enclosures are polycarbonate enclosures, which provide a number of advantages as it has high impact strength, can withstand extreme temperatures and can be easily customized to fit a specific application.
The grades range from 1 to 12 with a few variations thrown in between. For example, there are six different grade 3's: 3, 3R, 3S, 3X, 3RX, and 3SX. The X refers to the enclosures as being corrosion resistant and the other additional letter each represent certain properties or the omission of properties from the standard grade.
The diversity of NEMA enclosures is the reason why knowing your application and needs is so crucial to receiving the right NEMA enclosure for your specific application. Whether you are seeking a NEMA enclosure that is designed to protect against dust, water, coolant, oil or some other outside hazard, finding the right enclosure is vital to ensuring that your enclosure functions properly and most effectively.
Another important step to receiving the best possible NEMA enclosure for your application is to work with a trusted, experienced NEMA enclosure manufacturer, one who has the knowledge and capability to manufacturer and suggest the right grade of NEMA enclosure for your application.
